Two Killed, Two Injured in Explosion Linked to Houthi-Plantied Devices in Yemen's Taiz

A landmine and improvised explosive device (IED), planted by Houthis, detonated in the Maqbanah Directorate of Taiz province, southwestern Yemen, on Wednesday, killing two individuals and injuring two others.

According to a statement from Yemen’s Ministry of Interior Security Media Center, local authorities confirmed the fatalities as Fathi Abdulraqeeb Al-Humairi and Abdulnour Mohammed Hael. The injured, identified as Aqeel Ali Al-Saylani and Dhaifallah Ahmed Qassim, sustained severe wounds and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The ministry’s statement accused the Houthi group of responsibility, asserting that the incident underscores a pattern of violence threatening civilian safety in Yemen. It further condemned recurrent attacks across the country, which it claims exacerbate hardships for vulnerable populations.
