Security Forces Dismantle Houthi Terror Cell in Yemen’s Western Coast
Yemeni security forces in the western coast have uncovered and neutralized a Houthi cell responsible for planting explosive devices and conducting espionage operations.
According to the Security Media of the Western Coast Security Sector, the cell comprised five individuals—four civilians and one recruit—three of whom were from Dhamar Governorate, while the other two hailed from Taiz.
The detained cell members—identified as Asim Ali Ahmed Al-Rihani, Ahmed Sami Ahmed Al-Jahrani, Ahmed Saad Qasim Thabit Ma’bad, Safwan Saad Thabit Ma’bad, and Waleed Hammoud Hassan Al-Ja’ouri—confessed to being recruited by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia. Their tasks included planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) across the western coast and gathering sensitive intelligence on national resistance forces.
Security officials confirmed that the cell was apprehended swiftly, thwarting their plans before they could execute any terrorist operations.
