Iran-backed Houthis arrest military and security personnel, subject them to brutal torture
The Iran-backed Houthis have lured officers and soldiers by promising to pay their salaries that have been suspended for years, taking advantage of their living conditions, and then arresting and forcibly disappearing them. Security sources told Khabar Agency.
The detainees are subjected to brutal torture in Houthi prisons, leading to the death of many of them under torture. The Sources said.
This is considered a continuation of the repressive approach adopted by the Houthis against their opponents.
Rights activists called on local and international human rights organizations to urgently intervene to stop these violations and hold those responsible accountable. They also called for international action to rescue the detainees and ensure their safety, amid escalating calls to end the state of impunity that the militia exploits to continue its crimes.
