Iran-backed Houthis set up minefields planting in Yemen's Hodeidah

The Iran-backed Houthis have started expanding the planting of minefields in villages in the south of Yemen's Hodeidah governorate. Local sources said.

This comes after the Houthis forcibly displaced residents in the past few days, specifically in the directorates of Al-Jarahi, Manzar, Al-Durahimi, and some coastal areas belonging to the directorates of Al-Tuhayat and Bayet Al-Faqih.

The Houthis are working around the clock to plant a network of mines in the homes of citizens and in the middle of farms. The Sources added.

The Houthi actions in expanding mine networks in villages and areas of Hodeidah, especially in the southern areas, are referred to, coinciding with the forced displacement of citizens from their homes, as part of their plan to militarize the coastal city and turn it into a closed military base for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

This comes amid reports of the imminent launch of completing the liberation of the coastal province and Hodeidah ports.
