Iran-backed Houthis send more military reinforcements to Marib, bombard residential areas
The Iran-backed Houthis have sent military reinforcements to the battlefronts south of Marib governorate (northeastern Yemen), in a move aimed at obstructing peace efforts
Tribal sources told Khabar Agency that the Houthis continue to deploy various military vehicles and large numbers of fighters, as well as setting up fortifications and trenches along the frontlines, especially in the Mas and Al-Kasara fronts in Marib governorate.
Meanwhile, the Houthis have launched heavy bombardment, targeting residential areas in Al-Ghunaim Murad and Al-Aqil, north of Harib city. The bombardment destroyed two houses. The sources said.
This comes within the context of the military escalation of Houthis, rejecting peace and ceasefire efforts since the announcement of the truce agreement on April 2, 2022, under the auspices of the United Nations.
