Yemeni experts warn of the danger of Houthi distortion of school textbooks

Educators have warned of the danger of the Houthi militias distorting school textbooks and their efforts to change the beliefs of millions of young people, and indoctrinate them with extremist ideas, which threatens to mine the country's future and open sectarian conflicts with unpredictable results.

The Houthi distortions to the school textbooks confirm that this group is waging a major war against Yemeni society in the educational curricula, to undermine the future of generations. Yemeni educators told Khabar Agency

These distortions are made under the supervision of Yahya Al-Houthi, Minister of Education in the militia government, who is the brother of the militia leader, along with his son-in-law Qassem Al-Hamran, and that the process of distorting the curricula is carried out according to a sectarian perspective that glorifies the militia leaders, and their sectarian occasions, after eradicating all national symbols and events. Educators said.

The absurdity made by the Houthis extended from the school textbooks to spoiling the educational process by selecting elements from the educational office in the militia leadership to supervise public exams, as thousands of fighters were given high success rates in high school, while tens of thousands of others were unfair, because they refused to go to fight with them. They added

"The Houthis have planted a real bomb awaiting the Yemenis, which may result in accumulated ideological explosions".

According to observers, the Iran-backed Houthis began to focus more on children, hoping to form identities and beliefs that only believe in violence and murder, among this generation, which represents the nucleus of the future, and to serve their agendas.
