US military hits several Houthi sites inside Yemen
The US military said Tuesday that it had conducted multiple precision strikes against Iran-backed Houthi targets in Yemen’s Sanaa and coastal locations within Houthi-controlled territory over the last 24 hours.
Over two days, US Navy ships and fighter jets hit a Houthi command and control facility and advanced conventional weapon (ACW) production and storage facilities that included missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV).
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the Houthis used these facilities to carry out attacks on US military ships and merchant vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Other Navy and Air Force fighter jets destroyed a Houthi coastal radar site and seven cruise missiles and one-way attack UAVs over the Red Sea, CENTCOM said.
No injuries or damage to US troops or equipment was recorded.
“The strikes are a part of CENTCOM’s effort to degrade Iran-backed Houthi efforts to threaten regional partners and military and merchant vessels in the region,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
