Booby-Trapped Houthi Boat Destroyed off Hodeidah

The Saudi-led Arab coalition said on Sunday it had thwarted an imminent attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militias off the coast of Yemen’s Hodeidah province.

The coalition said it has destroyed a booby-trapped boat the Houthis were preparing to launch in the attack.

The vessel was destroyed on Kamaran island, located off the Salif port in Hodeidah.

The coalition accused the Houthis of persistently violating the 2018 Stockholm Agreement that calls for a ceasefire in the coastal province.

It slammed the militias’ “hostile behavior that threatens marine navigation and trade routes in the Bab Mandeb Strait and southern Red Sea region.”
